Kids play baseball on that field in that condition. The foul ball polls need paint. Okay now the yellow gate that stops cars from going in that park. The chain to lock it is broken and it is not locked. If you wanted to drive right in you could....
Lets start with the main parking area near the baseball field.
This park has become a real dump. I called the township left a message and complained.
First off right away you have an obsolete, non working, broken payphone that says (verizon) sitting their. If their were an emergency and you did not have a cell phone, your in trouble! Plus it looks horrendous. (I called the town on that 3 years ago, nothing was done). Why don't they call Verizon and have it removed for free if its not in use??? Next, the baseball field, good god! I grew up in this neighborhood I played in that park as a kid and that park is deplorable right now! Looks like someone just ripped the door off the box where you put the baseball gear. The baseball field itself is being taken back by the earth, their is weeds in the sand and it looks like a dump. The bleachers are rusty and falling apart. Don't sit on them, if you do make sure you had your tetanus shot!
Lets head down to the basketball court and tennis court. Okay the courts have huge cracks in them, it looks like their was an earthquake. Again deplorable! Their are leaves from the trees fallen on the courts. Wanna play some ball and slip and fall and crack your head open? Well this is a good place for it to happen. The rules signs for the courts are faded away and have graffiti on them. The nets on the basketball hoops are shot, the nets on the tennis court are ripped. Not that I would want to play on that court, you would either trip on one of the huge crack's or slip on the leaves and get hurt. Lawsuit anyone? The trees behind the courts are growing into the fences of the courts. Their are fallen branches all over the place, right in the middle of the park near one of the path's out. They took away the big picnic bench years ago, that was stupid. Near the playground their is a pipe just sticking out of the ground, was probably a playground sign some kids ripped down. If some young kid runs into that they could get hurt real bad. Also if your a kid and want to build a fort in the woods or enjoy nature, don't bother the people that live on Spruce drive will harass people for enjoying the woods and leave pieces of paper saying "Your not wanted in these Woods" even though they don't own the woods and have no business telling anyone what to do. I went thru that when I was a kid that was 20 years ago. Before me their were fort's, tree houses and all sorts of stuff. As each generation passes it gets worse. Kids have destroyed that park. The trash can lids are all cracked by juvenile delinquents yet the town doesn't stop these kids or fix the problems. Do I need to go on any further. This park along with abandoned Dallenbach lake area look like the places have just been nearly abandoned. I have not been in Country lane park in 10 years, I went in their and what I saw made me want to puke. I plan on taking video of that park very soon for the world to see. This is our tax dollars at work folks and for the amount of taxes we pay that park should be pristine, they all should! In conclusion I am ashamed of that park and ashamed of the town in which its in and the leadership that allowed that park to look like that. I would not mind seeing some resignations for that mess, the mayor should do something and I feel the director of parks and recreation cant be doing his/her job at this time with the park looking like that. That park needs to be repaired. Until than that place is deplorable, its dangerous to use the equipment their and its just really sad, not a park I would spend one second in now. Thank god I'm not a kid growing up now because that place is very poor at best. Country lane park folks, its in shamble's, beware not good. Not good at all!!!
Nice park :)
